RESILIENCE IN THE NATURAL WORLD
Presented as part of a joint exhibition with Elizabeth M. Cole, this collection features seven works by Melody Spangaro that explore resilience through the lens of personal memory and environmental observation. Spangaro’s work focuses on the visual representation of experiences within overlooked natural environments, specifically examining the presence and treatment of abandoned objects. Through these seven pieces, she highlights the ongoing degradation of the natural landscape—a stark contrast to the pristine wilderness depicted in Cole’s accompanying historical explorations—and invites reflection on our contemporary relationship with the environment.
